Covered in pony-like bovine leather with shaved and dyed hair produced by Conceria Tris on the occasion of Lineapelle Interiors 2025, Joe is a large, comfortable armchair shaped like a giant baseball glove mounted on invisible wheels. With this 1970 project, the designers, inspired by the poetics of Pop Art, materialised their admiration for the legendary American baseball champion Joe DiMaggio, introducing hyper-realistic figurations belonging to the world of art into the domestic environment. Joe is one of the icons of Italian design: exhibited in various museums dedicated to art and design, it is part of the permanent collection of the Triennale Design Museum and the MoMA in New York.
